I've read that. It's a great pamphlet.

The Metress book is, as Kat says, a nice resource. There isn't much in the way of narrative or analysis, but it is a good overview written from an authentic republican perspective.
The Mac Manus book is a great narrative history. It took me a long time to read, because in addition to being a big book, it constantly sent me drifting off into daydreams, which is great ...so long as you're not anxious to finish the thing.
The Moogie book is both hysterical and disturbing, but it couldn't possibly be non-fiction. The protagonist strikes me as part Sebastian Dangerfield, part Ignatious J. Reilly; that is to say, he's part scheming, lecherous drunk, and part delusional comic boob. It's a good read, but would be better if the author's vocabulary wasn't limited strictly to one and two syllable words.
