Not the table with the nice girls in pretty dresses, they'd be all gathered round that hottie guy from na Fiannas table... but the table with the angry young wans with bats lining up, surprisingly politely, all wantin to be the one to deliver the final blow... thats Mr. I's table. You can't miss it. I wish i could be there, hope everybody has a blast. Even you Mr. I :D

Can't make it myself, but hopefully there'll be a familar looking name in the Testimonial Programme... After last night's indiscretion, not sure I'd be much use at a proper night out anyhow. Right now I have a steamy date with a long shower and a couple of OTC painkiller tablets. In all seriousness, best wishes to all who can make it tonight!

Oh thats what yer calling me now... an indescretion! :peek:

HOWYA HOT-STUFF !! Ahh me poor auld head.... !! Great night , great company , great grub - the soup was bleedin' 'licious !! - and lovely pints  ! Had a right ball last night - the place was jammers-packed , great atmosphere - t'only troublesome issue was havin' to go outside for a smoke , but we overcame that ! Only a minor bother ! The speeches , the way the room was laid out for us , the very friendly hotel staff and the helpful RSF and hotel security people and of course .... ........the gorgeous young-wans , who couldn't be more helpful to us elder Gents (!) when we wanted to go out for a smoke - took turns , they did , in escorting us out to O' Connell Street , and stayed with us :D !! That'll havta do for now - one of the sons is taking meself and his auld Ma out for dinner . And a curer - few more pints  8) ! Catch ya round the gaff ! Slan Anois ! Ireland.

Great night had by all. Got to meet several of the IRBB crew. Excellent atmosphere, food drink and music. All in all, a great success.

the cabhair dinner on saturday night could not have gone any better. a great night and to be in the presence of non sellout principled republicans always gives a great boost. and the money goes to a good cause. as ireland has said, that soup and grub was WELL TASTY. great speech from the legend ruairi o' on arborfield barracks in the 50's,and the part the leinster honoree played. should have a few pics of the night up on rsf limerick web site soon. slan

Can't wait to see the pics... as usual, congrats on a great job go to Cabhair for the work they do all year long, In addition to seeing to the welfare of all those imprisoned for thier beliefs, every year they manage to throw a party with Mr. I in attandance that does not result in the hotel being trashed, the liquor running out, the bouncers breaking up a giant bar fight or somebodys innocent daughters reputation being compromised. 8) Those cabhair folks are miracle workers. :D

He's no Johnny Come Lately. They know his reputation and they were prepared. Congratulations to the honorees and the organizers. Glad to hear it was a success!

It was the best attended one I've been at for at least 10 years. Grub was ok (not up to my extravagant epicurean tastes) and the music was pretty good (for a group without a double neck electric guitar or a fire breathing bassist). Best of all was the company and the craic. I do have one complaint however and it is my perennial one. I didn't win anything at the raffle. I'm convinced I've been blacklisted by that Róisin one. She gave me dud numbers. I had numbers 1 to 5 on both pink and blue tickets. Who ever heard of number one coming out in a raffle?

HOWYIS ALL ! Yeah.... .................a bleedin' rapid night :D ! .....when the hotel people had it confirmed tha' auld Mr I was a-gonna be present they put on extra security - http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2004/11/24/riotpolice_wideweb__430x305.jpg -then , due to popular demand , and in front of an appreciative audience - http://www.cambridgenetwork.co.uk/object/news/42129/img/web_group_web.jpg -I took to the dance floor to strut me funky stuff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-Rf8bgZMAQ 8) !! -and then meself and a dozen or so beauties sat down at a four-seater table and ..... .....but I'm not giving yis a link to that !!  ! HAR! HAR! Slan Anois ! Ireland.

Report and pics from '11 Sixty Nine And Counting' http://11sixtynine.blogsome.com/2008/05/18/cabhair-testimonial-dinner-2008/ CABHAIR TESTIMONIAL DINNER 2008 The annual CABHAIR Testimonial Dinner was held last night (Saturday May 17th 2008) in ‘The Royal Dublin Hotel’ in O’ Connell Street , Dublin , and was a fantastic success : every seat (over 100 of them!) was taken and , indeed , several late-comers would have had to stand for the night were it not for the organisational skills of the hotel management and staff , who went out of their way to accommodate this over-subscribed event . The CABHAIR organisation is a charitable group solely dependant on public subscriptions and its aim is to help alleviate some of the suffering of the families of Irish republican prisoners . The organisation supports republican prisoners who do not receive assistance from any other body , and can be contacted at 223 Parnell Street , Dublin 1 , ‘phone 01-8729747 / fax 01-8729757 and e-mail: saoirse@iol.ie . This year , as usual , five life-long Irish Republicans were honoured for the service they have given to the Cause of Irish Freedom : Seamus Murphy , Leinster / Paddy White , Ulster / Micheál Ó Ceallaigh , Connacht / Liam Heaphy , Munster and Thomas Coyne Hosie , USA . These are the people who give us our past - veteran Republicans that we pay tribute to : the people that , like those that went before them , carry the torch of resistance and who have courageously maintained our Irish Republican tradition . Their experiences , their sacrifices and their example inspires us to follow their path . Éire Saor agus Gaelach - Tiocfaidh Ar La ! We publish with this post a few photographs from the event last night - other photographs and a proper report will be carried in the June 2008 issue of ‘Saoirse’.
