Protest at private health conference
From Indymedia: 1pm Thursday 24 April The Campaign for a Real Public Health Service has called a protest at 1pm at the "Private Healthcare Conference and Exhibition" on Thursday 24 April. The protest has been called to oppose the privatisation of our health system, which the conference is designed to facilitate. The protest is on at 1pm at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Northwood Hotel. Did anyone see Professor John Crown on the Late Late show last week? He really exposed the private hospitals as a fraud. He made it clear that these private hospitals are too small to provide modern care. They do not have the range of doctors or facilities needed and will always be sending people back to the public hospitals for any complex treatment. He said it was insane having private units and public units on the same campus - with neither having the critical mass of talent and equipment to provide the best care.
