RSF Limerick launch their 'NO to Lisbon' Campaign
LISBON CUTS HEALTH WHILE BOOSTING ARMY Republican Sinn Fein in Limerick launch their "NO to Lisbon' Campaign. At a time when massive cuts in Irish health spending are under way, the military forces of the EU are being boosted, a spokesman for Republican Sinn Fein said today when the party in Limerick launched their No to the Lisbon Treaty campaign. Representatives from East and West Limerick met in Broadford and launched a leaflet campaign to highlight the dangers of approving the treaty, according to local man Seamus O’Suilleabhain, Secretary of the Munster RSF Executive. "Already we see the evidence of the Lisbon Treaty with the arrival of Irish troops in Chad and this is only the start of an EU army", he said. "At a time when health services are being cut back and employment being curtailed, there is no shortage of money for military missions. The fact is under the Lisbon Treaty there will be increased military spending. We must oppose the creation of this EU super state." Munster PRO Joe Lynch from Limerick said that the Treaty will also enshrine the “free movement of goods and services”, and already this is considered superior to the rights of workers to strike. The Lisbon Treaty will further this agenda and place competition above the rights of Irish working people. We are calling for a No vote because we are opposed to the creation of an undemocratic super state and the erosion of the rights of the Irish people.
